Our Saffron pistils, also called "Zaafrane Hor" in Arabic, are from the region of Taliouine. This spice is widely used in Moroccan gastronomy. Composed of 6 purple petals, the flower encloses the famous pistil formed of 3 red and orange stigmas. Handpicked meticulously at dawn before sunrise when the flower is still closed, saffron is very difficult to harvest, which explains its price and why its called the “red gold” of Morocco. Its harvest takes place between mid October and mid November of each year. Saffron is endowed with many therapeutic virtues since it is high in safranol and crocin, two active ingredients that play a crucial role on balancing adrenaline, dopamine and serotonin, three neurotransmitters that regulate our mood.
The story of our company started as a dream of having a farming profession in order to value the local products, specially the know-how of numerous small producers in Morocco. Our family wealth has allowed us to achieve this dream and launch our corporate citizen Les Douceurs du Maroc. Our love for local products and traditions led us to develop a range of 100% natural products which harvesting, manufacturing and health hygiene is strictly controlled. Our products are exclusively grown by producers and small farming exploitations that have mastered perfectly, and for generations, the production and preparation processes. We do not cease to look for producers across Morocco in order to value their products and their know-how.

Très bon produit ! La petite bouteille est pratique pour la conservation du safran mais c'est un peu compliqué pour ressortir les pistils
